Let me start by making it clear that the title is not ageist. The old boys concerned are all former pupils of a Surrey school who have been brought together by Angel Radio.
Librarian and presenter Richard Anscombe in conversation with fellow presenter Ian Mitchell found out that he had lived in Morden in his youth. Richard had been living in Sutton at the same time.
When the conversation turned to schools, they found they had both attended Raynes Park County Grammar School though Ian was in the year below Richard.
This morning they were both on air together. Imagine their surprise when they got a request call from yet another old boy of the school.
"I couldn't believe it," said Richard. "Barry Dixon was in my year and used to sit behind me. We do keep in touch and he probably heard Angel Radio when in the Isle of Wight on holiday.
"He still lives in Surrey and must have started listening to Angel Radio again when it started streaming on computer.
"It was an amazing coincidence though to have three former pupils of Raynes Park County Grammar on air together."
